The third annual Big Bagel Brunch for World Jewish Relief was held in the Chigwell and Hainault Synagogue, Limes Farm.

More than £1,500 was donated to help the charity’s Founding Futures programme which helps educate women.

Paul Stein, from World Jewish Relief, said: “The programme uses vocational training to empower women to make a real difference to their lives and gain a brighter future.”

Tens of boxes of clothes were donated and sorted as well as some delicious bagels eaten.

Sonara Ziles, who lent her knitting needles to the cause, said: “Together we have already knitted over 200 blankets, and the response from the community has been absolutely brilliant.”
