Dozens of police officers are in Green Lane this afternoon and a police helicopter has been scrambled in an ongoing incident.
A section of Green Lane is closed to traffic and pedestrians.
Police appear to be using its junction with Highbury Gardens as a rendezvous point.
Children at a nearby primary school are also reportedly being kept inside their building,
Nine police cars, plus dog unit vehicles, are in Green Lane.
London Ambulance Service have an ambulance, a single responder in a car and a duty officer on “standby” at the scene.
