A regime designed for boxers is fast becoming a fitness phenomenon and hopes to bob and weave its way to success in the borough.
Andrea Teja, 46, from Chingford, has started a BoxingYoga class at Lions Den Gym, High Road, Chadwell Heath.
The activity differs from traditional types of yoga by directly targeting improved sporting performance.
Andrea said: “It opens the front kinetics chain [the relationship or connection between your nerves, muscles and bones].
“There’s 12 rounds in the yoga sequence, each part is designed to correct breathing, flexibility, stamina and stability.
“It’s quite challenging and is attracting more than just boxers now.”
The class runs Saturdays, starts 9.15am and lasts for an hour.
It costs £5 for members of gym and £10 but non members but Andrea is offering a free introductory session.
The activity was created in North London in 2011 and now operates in countries around the world including USA, South Africa, Netherlands, Germany and Ireland.
“I would like to welcome people to come and try it out and see if it can make a difference to their wellbeing,” she added.
