The body found in Wanstead woods last month has been identified as Frederic Bihen.

The 39-year-old’s body was discovered by two young boys near New Wanstead Road on April 27. He was from the Wanstead area.

A post-mortem took place on April 29 at East Ham Mortuary, but no cause of death was established.

A spokesman for Redbridge police said formal identification has yet to take place, but they are “satisfied” the man is Mr Bihen.

His next of kin have been informed.

An inquest was opened and adjourned at Walthamstow Coroner’s Court on May 4.

Mr Bihen’s death is being treated as unexplained.
