Bodgers staff praised in tearful morning meeting on last day of trading

Bodgers staff were praised for working “like Trojans” over the last few months at a tearful morning meeting on the last day of trading.

Managing director of the Morleys Store Group, David Hordle said he thought the team were amazing and he was putting on a thank you lunch for them today.

“Ever since we announced the intended closure back in summer you have been professional, shown dedication, hard work and commitment,” he said to the staff

“Above all you have continued to give your customers great care.

“You have been a credit to yourselves, a credit to the customers of Ilford and a credit to the Morleys Stores Group.

“At this end of an era, I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you, for everything each and every one of you has done for the business and critically the customers of Ilford.”

Mr Hordel said some of the staff have worked in the store for lots of years and those that did not want to be transferred were given help with CV and interviewing skills.
