After 127 years of trading, Bodgers will close its doors for good today (Wednesday, February 28) at 7pm.

The decision to shut the much-loved store in Ilford was announced in July last year with the owners, The Morleys Stores Group, saying that the shop was not generating enough income.

It is truly the end of an era for Ilford and Bodgers is the last independent department store to operate from the town centre.

Learn about the history of the shop and see if you can spot your comments in the interactive story timeline above.

The Ilford Recorder will be at the shop on Station Parade from 10am for a last look around and to meet with patrons and staff.

If you spot us please come and say hello and share your Bodgers memories.
