Birthday celebrations for Bengali poet at Caterham High School

A hall at Caterham High School came alive on Saturday for the birthday celebrations of Nobel prize-winning Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore.

Audiences were treated to dances, classical music and poetry readings at the Caterham Avenue school.

The community event was organised by the Bengali Cultural Association and supported by Essex Indians, raising money for the Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre and Research Institute in Calcutta.
