Film lovers of all ages will be munching popcorn in High Road, Ilford, this Saturday, as the popular outdoor cinema returns.
The iconic musical Annie kicks things off at 12pm and the critically acclaimed computer animated movie Big Hero 6 starts afterwards at 3pm.
On August 22 the cinema will show How To Train Your Dragon and Planes 2.
Situated between Argos and Waterstones, the viewing area has seats and an astroturf picnic area.
The audience space in front of the big screen is bigger than last year, due to the popularity of the screenings.
All films are free, and are put on by Ilford’s Business Improvement District (BID).
Ben Collins, manager of Ilford BID, said: “There is always an appetite for family events in the town centre and last year’s outdoor cinema is back by popular demand.
“We hope that people are encouraged to come into town and watch the movies and spend time and money in the shops and restaurants.”
He added: “There is plenty of space so people can pop in an watch a bit or stay and watch the whole movie.”
Sharki Hakim, store manager of Moss Bros, said: “As a business we appreciate the events that Ilford BID provide as they create a fun community feel to the town and all for free.”
