Filming for a new BBC One period drama, featuring Hollywood star Tom Hardy, will take place on Friday at a church in Wanstead.
“Taboo” - an eight part series, will star Hardy as errant adventurer pitted against the 19th century East India Company as he sets out to build a shipping empire.
The series will be produced by blockbuster director Sir Ridley Scott, best known for classic cult films Alien and Blade Runner.
Filming will take place at St Mary’s Church in Overton Drive, Wanstead, a Grade I listed building and will mainly involve its interior and exterior.
Technical support vehicles will be parked in the cricket club car park and larger lorries outside on the street.
