A Barkingside-based square dance club marked its 61st anniversary with a special event with both past and current members coming together to celebrate.
Lister Square Dance Club hosted the event at Holy Trinity Church, Mossford Green, Barkingside, last month, encouraging people to learn the unusual dance which dates back to the 17th century.
Member Margaret Brown said: “Over 60 people came and we all had a very enjoyable time. It was lovely to catch up with old friends, some of whom came from as far as Bedford.”
The club, which meets every Tuesday at 8pm at Fullwell Cross Library, High Street, Barkingside, is hoping to encourage old members to get back in touch.
