A busload of boffins from Google rolled through Barkingside yesterday (December 13) bringing knowledge and digital skills to the community.
The white double decker – dubbed “The Google Digital Garage” – parked up in Ken Aston Square, in High Street, from 10am to 3.30pm on Thursday.
Inside its doors tech experts delivered sessions in social media strategies, CV building and face-to-face coaching, among other services, free-of-charge.
Among the attendees was Ilford North MP Wes Streeting, who said: “I’m delighted that Google are bringing the Digital Garage bus to Ilford.
“Digital skills are increasingly important in modern day, and the Google Digital Garage bus helps to provide people with the skills and confidence they need to reach their full potential.”
Google UK’s managing director Ronan Harris said: “We firmly believe everyone should be able to benefit from the opportunities that technology brings and we want to give people the skills they need to grow their confidence, career or business.”
