Two dog-crazy children raised £160 for Redbridge Guide Dogs by holding a charity afternoon tea in their home.

Simrit, who is nine, and seven-year-old Manraj Tagar, who attend St Aubyn’s School, Bunces Lane, Woodford Green delivered a cheque for £160 to the charity last Wednesday afternoon.

About 15 people attended their afternoon tea, in Hastings Avenue in Barkingside in early September.

Their father, Tejinder Tagar, said the children wanted to increase awareness of eye disorders and to support the training of guide dogs.

He said: “They put on a wonderful spread, demonstrated eye disorders with simulation glasses, wrote people’s names out in braille and did a presentation for their guests.”
