A large amount of Asian gold and two laptop computers were among several items stolen from a house in Wessex Close, Ilford, after burglars forced their way in through the front door while the residents slept.

The burglary took place between 2.30am and 8.20am on May 1 and police are appealing for any witnesses or people with information about the burglary to come forward.

Det Con Chris James, of Ilford burglary squad, said: “I ask that anyone with information regarding its whereabouts to please contact me.”
