Archant

With the help of an artist Ilford toddlers have created a beautiful embroidered patchwork, which now adorns the preschool’s wall.

Pupils at Little Rascals in St Margarets Church Hall, Balfour Road, Ilford, have spent the last few weeks adding small pieces to a large quilt.

The children created butterflies, moths and other bugs to embroider onto the fabric.

On Friday, with parents and teachers in attendance, it was finished and placed on the wall in celebration.

Textile artist Sonia Tuttiett had been helping the children create the piece.

Preschool practitioner Lesley Bishop said: “It has been a great few weeks having Sonia help the children.

“They’ve loved doing the art and the parents really enjoyed seeing it put up on the wall.”
