A group of five men armed with a hammer and Stanely knives forced their way inside a property and threatened a family.

On Saturday, January 25, police were called to Peel Place, Clayhall, to reports of an aggravated burglary.

Just before 9.15pm the family heard a loud sound from downstairs.

They discovered a group of five males inside their home.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: “The unknown male suspects proceeded to threaten the victims and demand their jewellery from them.

“The suspects took a variety of valuable jewellery and money, they also completed an untidy search of the property for other items.”

It is believed at this stage that the men used an “unknown implement” to force open a rear ground floor window, as there are tool marks on the frame of the window.

Enquiries are ongoing and the police said they are “dedicated to identifying and bringing these offenders to justice”.
