An annual dinner saw people from all religions join together for a celebration of all faiths last Saturday.

The event, organised by Redbridge Faith Forum (RFF), saw dignitaries from across the borough celebrate community spirit, at Karamsar Gurdwara, High Road, Ilford.

Jacquie Grieve, chair of RFF, highlighted the importance of inter-faith events.

She said, “This evening is a celebration of how communities can live and prosper together, taking the best of all we can offer in one ofthe most culturally diverse boroughs in the country.”

The three-course dinner and speeches saw the Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Gurdial Bhamra, celebrate the work RFF does to “reach out” to surrounding communities.

He was presented with a cheque, by the chair of the Karamsar Centre, which will be donated towards the Mayors Fund.

The next open event will be the Annual Walk of Peace on Sunday 23rd October 2016.
