The length of time children have to wait before being adopted may be reduced due to a voluntary adoption service working in the borough.
Coram, one of the UK’s most successful voluntary adoption services, will be working with Redbridge Council to place children without lengthy delays.
Older children often have a longer wait to be placed with a family than younger children. There are four children under the age of five waiting to be adopted in Redbridge.
Cllr Alan Weinberg, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “Coram are continually researching what works best when it comes to caring for vulnerable young children and have created their very own approach which has led to them becoming known as one of the best in the country.”
