A YOUNG actress with aspirations to take her brand of theatre into schools has won backing from the council.
Georgina Periam, 24, of Langley Meadows, Loughton, received a 500 bursary from Epping Forest District Council at the Civic Awards.
Ms Periam, who is studying for a masters degree at East 15 Acting School, Rectory Lane, Loughton, will use the money to set up a children's theatre company in September at the end of her course.
She said : "I'm going to look into the curriculum and see how we could link in what we do.
"There are a couple of people with experience of working with children in my group.
"It is something we have talked about and would like to do when we have finished."
Ms Periam is preparing an alternative production of Alice in Wonderland, which is one of three main assignments she has to complete to pass her course.
