Last night (Thursday, November 1) he was taken to hospital with severe burns after a blaze at his two-storey house in Herbert Road.

He later died in hospital.

The man was rescued by two members of the public before the fire brigade arrived.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) were called at 4.48pm to the fire and four fire engines went to tackle the blaze that was put out just before 6.20pm – 20 per cent of the ground floor of the house was damaged by fire.
