Data has revealed which east London boroughs achieved the top grades in the 2026 A-Level results.
The figures, published by Ofqual, show the percentage of grade As and A*s each local authority across the country achieved in last Thursday's (August 13) A-Level results day.
A total of 291 authorities were included in the list.
Newham saw the highest percentage of top grades in the east of the capital.
It ranked 12th nationally, with 43.2 per cent of entries achieving A or A* grades in 2026, up from 40.8pc in 2025.

Redbridge was the next highest ranked east London borough - at 148th place - with 23.4pc of top grades achieved in 2026.
This was a similar rate to the 23.5pc registered last year.
Waltham Forest was next, ranking 181st out of the 291 authorities in the list, with 21.9pc of grades sitting at A or A*.
This was down marginally from the 22.7pc in 2025.
Barking and Dagenham sat ranked 218th in the list with 19.1pc of results being As or A*s, also down slightly from the 20pc registered in 2025.
In 245th place nationally, Havering saw As and A*s make up 17.5pc of its results - up from 2025's rate of 14.9pc.
Tower Hamlets was the lowest ranked east London borough - sitting at 248th place nationally with 17.1pc of A-Level results opened last Thursday being grade As or A*s.
This was 0.1pc higher than last year's total.
Guildford in Surrey topped the list as a whole with exactly 50pc of its grades registering as As or A*s, according to the data.
In second place was Richmond upon Thames, where 48.7pc of entries received A or above, followed by Cheltenham in Gloucestershire with 47.7pc), Tonbridge & Malling in Kent (46.4pc) and Hertsmere in Hertfordshire (46.2pc).
Tomorrow (August 20), pupils around the country will open their GCSE results.
