An east London student has secured an A* in his maths A-level – at just 10 years old.
Musa, a Year 5 pupil at Harris Academy Chobham in Stratford, earned the top grade after just one year of studying.
It comes after he achieved grade 9s in both maths and further maths at GCSE only last year.
Francesca Perry, executive principal of Harris Academy Chobham, said: "Musa loves Lego, cricket, football, and playing with his friends.
"But it was clear to us and his family very early on that he is also a gifted mathematician.
"His family organised for him to be taught independently, which we were happy to support."
Ms Perry praised Musa’s achievements, highlighting the potential she sees in his future academic journey.
She said: "With scores of 95 per cent and 99pc in his maths and further maths GCSEs last year, he has gone on to achieve an A* in his A-level.
"We are enormously proud of him and will do everything we can to ensure that his Year 6 feels just as exciting as his Year 4 and Year 5!
"Next up, he's thinking about further maths A-level, physics A-level and the maths Olympiad."
Musa said: "I didn't mind what grade I got – I just wanted to get all the answers correct."
The school also celebrated the success of its older students.
Amelia, who earned A* grades in sociology and film studies and an A in history, will go on to read history at Lincoln College, Oxford.
She was also awarded a runner-up prize in the Cambridge Anthony Cross Slavonic Studies Essay competition.
Classmate Maximilian Kiecana received A*s in physics, chemistry, and maths, and will study maths at the University of Bristol.
