A former chief ranger from Ilford has raised £1,000 for Alzheimer's UK.
Ilford resident Angela Byer, who has just retired from her year in office as chief ranger of the Barkingside branch of Foresters Friendly Society, raised the amount through raffles at bi-monthly meetings at Fullwell Cross Library.
She also challenged members to participate in sponsored walks.

The cheque will be sent to the Chair of The Foresters, who is raising funds for Alzheimer's UK during her year in office, and has asked all branch members to contribute towards the goal of walking 482 miles, representing the 482,000 people suffering from Alzheimer's in the UK.
The nationwide total will be handed over to the charity on June 21 in Llandudno at the Foresters annual conference.
