A domestic abuser, a killer driver and a sex offender who blackmailed paedophiles were among the east London criminals put behind bars last month.
These are the names and faces of the men who were sentenced to prison time in March 2026.
Domestic abuser
Adomas Daubaris, 57, of Cherry Tree Lane in Rainham, has been jailed for domestic violence offences.
He strangled his then-partner on two occasions in July and September last year.
After he had left following the second attack, the victim woke in the middle of the night to find him back inside her home.
Daubaris was arrested at the scene and later pleaded guilty to two charges of intentional strangulation.
He was released on bail but later turned up at the victim’s house on Christmas Day and again on December 27, taking the victim’s dog on the second occasion.
Judge Alexia Power, who sentenced him to 18 months in prison, said: “People in intimate relationships should be able to trust and feel safe with their partner.
“They are entitled to respect and love. Strangulation is neither of those things.”

Romford killer driver
Timothy Kusemi, 41, of Lower Bedfords Road in Romford, killed a 70-year-old woman after failing to give way at a crossroads in Humberside.
He was driving an Audi A6 when it collided with a Volkswagen T-Roc at a junction near Rudston in the East Riding of Yorkshire on November 24, 2023.
Sue Whittles, who was driving the Volkswagen, died at the scene.
Her husband Bill Whittles, now 83, who was in the passenger seat, suffered serious injuries including multiple fractures to his spine, ribs and sternum and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.
He spent almost 12 weeks in hospital and later in a rehabilitation centre recovering from his injuries.
An investigation found Kusemi had failed to stop and give way at the crossroads of Burton Road, Nine Dikes Road and the B1253 Thwing Road before crashing into the side of the couple’s vehicle.
Witnesses also described his driving beforehand as erratic, with his car swerving across the road.
Officers established that Kusemi was not legally allowed to drive in the UK at the time because his licence was not valid.
Kusemi was jailed for six years for causing death by dangerous driving.

Stratford paedophile
A sex worker blackmailed other paedophiles after he sold them child sexual abuse images.
Registered sex offender John Carver, 38, was living in Stratford in 2023 when police discovered images and videos of babies being raped on his phone.
He was also in possession of a document described as a “paedophile manual".
Earlier this March he was sentenced to two years in prison for these offences.
Snaresbrook Crown Court heard that in the three years between his arrest and sentencing in this case, Carver had been given a nine-year extended sentence by another court.
That sentence came after he had been on the run for a year having been released from prison in January 2024.
When he was eventually arrested in Norwich in January 2025, on his phone officers discovered even more child sexual abuse images.
Officers also found over 50 PayPal accounts which showed he had been receiving payments in exchange for the child abuse images.
In some cases he also blackmailed buyers, telling them that if they did not send money he would report them to police.
Shoplifter
Kevin Perrin, 35, of no fixed abode, was jailed for thefts from M&S in Upminster and Co-op in Dagenham.
On May 4 last year he stole approximately £100 worth of meat from Co-op.
Then on October 20 he stole around £125 worth of meat from M&S Simply Food.
Magistrates noted his previous convictions for similar offending and sentenced him to six weeks immediate imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to two counts of theft.
