New football sessions for girls aged nine to 12 have been launched at an Ilford school.
The London APSA Youth Project (LAYP) has started the sessions at Little Ilford School, aiming to boost participation, enjoyment, and confidence among young girls.
The programme promotes a healthy and active lifestyle and is delivered by qualified coaches, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and building friendships.

This initiative is part of LAYP’s ongoing efforts to expand opportunities for girls in grassroots sport across East London. With growing interest, the organisation hopes to develop pathways into matches, leagues, and long-term player development.
The sessions are held weekly. LAYP continues to support young people in the community through sport, mentoring, and positive engagement initiatives.
