Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a double stabbing of staff at Goodmayes station. 

A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy from Dagenham have been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article. 

The pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are also charged with robbery in connection with an alleged incident at a Tesco store in Goodmayes. 

It follows two members of station staff being stabbed after an alleged 'altercation' with two teenagers on the platform at 10.30pm on January 31.

Their condition is not life-threatening, British Transport Police said.

The boys have both been remanded and were due to appear at Highbury Youth Court today (February 2). 

Det Insp Paul Attwell, from British Transport Police’s major, serious and organised crime team, said: “We have stepped up patrols in the area to provide a visible reassurance to the public and those members of staff working on the rail network.

"Violence in any form will not be tolerated and we will act swiftly to ensure all those working and travelling on the rail network are safe.”
