Hornchurch man, 24, dies after being hit by train at Goodmayes Station

A 24-year-old man from Hornchurch has died after being hit by a train at Goodmayes Station.

Paramedics and police were called to the station on Tuesday, July 31 at around 6.54am to reports of a person being struck by a train.

They found an injured man on the tracks.

He was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition and by Friday his condition was described as critical but stable.

British Transport Police today (August 6) confirmed that he had sadly passed away.

The man has been identified and his next of kin have been informed.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “The incident is being investigated but is not being treated as suspicious.

He added: “It’s requested that any information about the incident is passed on to the BTP by contacting 0800405040 and quoting Log 70 of today.”
