Businesses are stepping up to the plate to register for this year’s Ilford Business Awards for one or more of 15 titles  — from fitness studios and care homes to a toddlers’ day nursery.

They can opt to be nominated for more than one award.

Redbridge Business of the Year nominations lined up so far are Royal Nawaab, Rhythmic Care UK and Golden Barbers.

Those registered so far for the Best New Business category include Royal Nawaab, Ilford Community Grocery, Sinful Sweets, 2Tuff Health & Fitness and Dezign Studio.

“The awards celebrate the businesses that are the lifeblood of the local economy,” Redbridge Council’s leader Jas Athwal said.

“Our buzzing high streets, transport links and regeneration work attracts entrepreneurs and innovators from all over the world. Redbridge is home to a thriving business community.”

Employer of the year shortlist has on it Costa Coffee Goldex Essex, Barney Bear’s Nursery and Rhythmic Care UK.

Best in Customer Service list so far has Supercuts, Barney Bear’s Nursery and Costa Coffee Goldex Essex.

Best in Hospitality nominees listed to date are the Great Spoon, Costa Coffee Goldex Essex, Barney Bear’s Nursery and Royal Nawaab.

Two companies are listed for Independent Business of the Year, JS Surveying & Design and RB Services.

Three enterprises are lined up for Redbridge Art and Culture award: Space Ilford, the Redbridge Music Lounge and Dance to Inspire.

Other categories have one nomination so far. 

Best Fashion Business: Tight Fit Jeans. Best Beauty Business: Beauty at Anju’s. Best Finance Sector Business: Aud Tax Accountants & Tax Consultants. Best Media Business: DigiPix Ilford. Best Sustainable Transition Business: TSB Bank Ilford. Redbridge Beacon Award: Walk it Out.

The awards hosted by Ilford’s Business Improvement District enterprise zone are set up to recognise businesses, charities and social enterprises that are driven by “community value” to foster working environments and make a difference to people’s lives.

They are being presented on November 30. Registration ends on July 31 to get recognition for 2023.
