Just Stop Oil activists held up traffic with a ‘slow walking’ protest in Redbridge.

They marched this morning (June 5) on the A12 outside Gants Hill station, blocking the road partly between Gants Hill and Redbridge roundabouts.

Redbridge MPS tweeted that the "spontaneous" protest blocked the road and caused traffic to build up.

Concerns were raised on social media about children not being able to get to their exams.

One Twitter user said: “Huge amounts of kids on school routes around Gants Hill. Completely selfish."

Conditions were imposed on those involved by the police to disperse them.

The road was said to have cleared within a few minutes of the police showing up.

Essex Live reported that two protesters were arrested on suspicion of breaching the conditions.

Just Stop Oil, which aims to stop fossil fuel activity, said on Twitter that around 75 of its supporters marched through the capital from 8am today across four separate locations.
