Frank Warren is expecting River Wilson-Bent to give Hamzah Sheeraz the toughest test of his five-year professional career at The O2 on November 26.

And the 23-year-old from Ilford, who is unbeaten in 16 bouts, hopes to add the Commonwealth middleweight title to his WBC Silver mantle - which he claimed back in July at Stratford’s Copper Box Arena after defeating Argentina’s Francisco Emanuel Torres in five rounds.

Sheeraz previously held the WBC International Silver middleweight title after beating Jez Smith and made four successful defences of the WBO European super-welterweight title, which included victory over former British welterweight champion Bradley Skeete, before vacating them.

But Coventry's highly-rated Wilson-Bent, 28, has won 13 of his 15 outings including one draw against forthcoming British title challenger Tyler Denny before the follow West Midlander prevailed in a rematch in June at Skydome Coventry via a split decision.

He previously won and defended the Midlands Area title against Troy Coleman and George Farrell, respectively.

"This is the sort of examination Hamzah needs and I feel certain it will be a competitive and entertaining fight on what is already an exciting card,” said Islington-born promoter Warren.

"We explored a number of options when it came to choosing an opponent for Hamzah. He is still pretty new to the weight division, with having just two fights at 160lbs, so we determined that a tough domestic test will serve him best at this stage.

"River has fought on one of our Birmingham shows previously so we know his quality and also know that he will view this as a breakthrough opportunity and will give it his absolute everything.”

If Sheeraz succeeds on the night then he will be next in line to compete for the British title which has recently been vacated by Denzil Bentley.

The 27-year-old from Battersea hopes to hit the world title glory jackpot this Saturday at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, when he takes on WBO defending champion Janibek Alimkhanuly from Kazakhstan.

“Having the Commonwealth title on the line is a big bonus and the winner will be firmly in line for a shot at the British title,” Warren added.

"This is going to be some night of boxing! We've now got four major domestic title fights on the bill with all of them near enough even-money. This is a show tailor-made for British fight fans.”

Topping the November 26 bill is Islington’s John Ryder, who faces Zach Parker for the vacant WBO interim world super-middleweight title.

The undercard also features Upminster's unbeaten super-lightweight Sonny Liston Ali and Dennis McCann who meets Joe Ham for the vacant Commonwealth super-bantamweight belt.

Sam Noakes takes on Calvin McCord for the vacant Commonwealth lightweight crown, while Pierce O'Leary tussles with Namibia’s Emmanuelo Mungandjela for the vacant WBC International super-lightweight mantle.
