A burst pipe caused a splash in Rainham this week, when workmen were called out to reinstate the A1306 before rush hour.
The main pipe ruptured in the early hours of Friday last week, reducing the New Road to be reduced to just bus lanes while workers tried to fix the problem.
A number of houses in nearby Betterton Road flooded after a build-up of water, with damage being dealt to the gardens of an unlucky few.
Resident David Noble, 47, said: “It caused damage to lawn mowers and sheds in Betterton Road. They were pumping water out on Saturday and Sunday.”
Modus Utilities worked quickly to make sure the road was in full flow before Friday evening’s rush hour, to save further disruption in the area.
David added: “Luckily there weren’t any problems on the A13, so the traffic on the A1306 wasn’t too bad.”
