A theatre’s autumn season of events has been unveiled and will include an array of theatrical, musical and dance productions.

Highlights at Queen’s, in Billet Lane, Hornchurch, include the world premiere of rock’n’roll musical Roll Over Beethoven and Steel Magnolias, a comedy about true friendship.

The theatre’s interim chief executive, Thom Stanbury, said: “The Queen’s is passionate about providing an enormous range of top quality, affordable entertainment.

“From a vibrant programme of guest shows to our exciting season of four fantastic productions presented by our resident company of actor-musicians, this autumn is bursting with music, laughter, thrills and family fun.”

The spectrum of musical genres presented between the months of September to November will range from jazz to folk.

Richard Digance will return to the theatre on October 25 to perform his collection of comedy songs.

On September 28, Elkie Brooks brings audiences an evening of blues and jazz, singing from her latest albums, including Powerless.

An array of talented bands will also be performing at the theatre, paying homage to legends of pop music.

On September 6, Liverpool tribute band The Cavern Beatles, will perform and the following evening West End star Rebecca Freckleton will take to the stage for Whitney – Queen of the Night.

This will be followed by The Story of the Bee Gees on November 19.

Fun for youngsters includes the Comedy Club 4 Kids on October 28. There will also be workshops, stories, music and crafts for all ages.

The season will wind down with the family pantomime Aladdin from November 28 onwards.
