Havering’s environmental distributor has received £4 million worth of funding for projects across the borough.

Veolia Havering Riverside Maintenance Trust (VHRMT) will be able to distribute funds to local community organisations and voluntary groups over the next two to three years.

This follows on from VHRMT appointing their new company secretary, Simon Parkinson, following the retirement of Robin Squire after 16 years in the role.

Simon said: “I am delighted to be joining the Veolia Havering Riverside Maintenance Trust as it continues to support community and environmental projects across the London Borough of Havering.”

Trust chairman, Doug Benjafield, revealed Mr Squire will continue to serve as a trustee on the Maintenance Board Trust, he said: “We will benefit considerably from his knowledge and expertise.”

VHRMT was established 20 years ago which distributes Landfill Community Fund monies secured from Veolia UK Ltd, which helped restore Upminster Windmill and Langtons Gardens.
