Five homes in the same road have been raided this morning as police try to bust a drugs ring.

The properties, all in Elgin Road, Seven Kings, were entered simultaneously by officers at 6.45am.

Police are now searching each home looking for drugs as they investigate “low level” usage and dealing.

No arrests have yet been made.

More than 40 officers, including safer neighbour team (SNT) members and officers from the territorial support group, are involved in the police operation.

Seven Kings Safer Neighbourhood Team Sgt Paul Keely said: “The information [for the warrants] has come from residents and patrols and inquiries by PCSOs and SNTs.

“Everything has been brought together in partnership with councillors and Redbridge Council’s antisocial behaviour team.”

Hundreds of leaflets telling Elgin Road residents about the five house searches will be dropped through letterboxes later today by officers.

Police said the raids are part of an “ongoing investigation” stretched across the “last few weeks”.
