Four green spaces in Redbridge could be protected forever if they are accepted into a scheme to mark the year of the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
One park and three recreational grounds could be protected under The Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge, which aims to maintain green spaces for future generations.
The areas, which include Loxford Park, Loxford Lane, Ilford and Westwood Recreation Ground, Meads Lane, Seven Kings, would be eligible to apply for funding for improvements.
The other spaces are Redbridge Recreation Ground, Woodford Bridge Road, Woodford and Hainault Recreation Ground in Forest Road, Hainault.
People can voice their opinions on the Redbridge Council website and, in the near future, the QE II Fields in Trust website.
