Get involved in a new campaign to help ensure that the borough’s abandoned animals aren’t forgotten this Christmas.
Pets at Home, Horns Road, Newbury Park will be running its Santa Paws appeal, for the third year running, which collects gifts and donations for abandoned animals during the festive season.
The campaign which launched on Saturday, will be encouraging customers to buy an extra gift or make a donation to benefit a needy pet at a local animal rescue.
Store manager, Tony Bentick, says: “It’s important to remember that not all pets will be so fortunate this December.
“Customers simply pay for their gift at the till and receive a sticker to place on the product. The gift can then be placed in the charity collection bin. We will then invite local rescues to come in and collect whatever has been donated.”
Last year the initiative, which is run by Support Adoption For Pets, raised more than 100,000 worth of products.
