There will be better access to psychological therapies for residents affected by personality disorders thanks to a new programme.
The Department of Health announced that the North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT), Barley Lane, Goodmayes, is one of just three NHS healthcare organisations to be a national Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) demonstrator site.
The national scheme aims to increase the availability of therapies for psychosis, bipolar disorder and personality disorder.
Care and support minister Norman Lamb said: “These sites will benefit those with the most severe mental illnesses and personality disorders and will help policy makers, commissioners and providers better understand how we can ensure people get the right help.”
