Last year’s winner of the Young Citizen Award has shown no signs of slowing down in his fundraising efforts and has just completed a 20km charity walk, despite planning to do only 10km.
Tarun Odedra, 11, of Ramsgill Drive, Newbury Park, was picked from all the monthly nominees in 2012 because he has been doing the challenging walks since the age of two.
Last month, he tackled a trek in Neasden and raised £446 for international cause BAPS Charities and KIDS, the disabled children’s charity, doing twice the distance he had planned. He said: “When you do it for charity, it gives you some sort of super power.”
