Visitors to South Woodford Library enjoyed afternoon tea and a sing-song as part of its Golden Years programme.
Vision Redbridge, Redbridge Council’s culture and leisure arm, regularly organises fitness and social events for people aged 50 years old and above.
And last week, singer Nick Spokes led participants in rousing recitals of popular songs at the library in High Road.
The event also tied in with the “Make a Noise in Libraries Fortnight”, an annual campaign by the Royal National Institute of Blind People to improve access to libraries for blind and partially sighted people.
Visitors were able to get advice on how to get books and magazines in accessible formats and to learn about audio books.
