Adoptive families are wanted to take in six children without homes in Redbridge.
Redbridge Council is encouraging more residents to consider giving children a loving home during National Adoption Week, which runs until Friday.
Unlike fostering, adoption gives full legal rights and responsibilities to families for children who can no longer be brought up by their birth parents.
Anyone aged 21 and over can apply, regardless of home ownership, employment, relationship status or sexuality.
No qualifications or previous experience as a parent are needed.
An information evening is being held on November 12 at the Station Road Centre, Station Road, Ilford from 6.30pm for anyone thinking about adopting.
Anyone interested in adoption can also call 020 8708 7459 or email adoptionteam@redbridge.gov.uk for information.
