Greater Anglia customers are being “strongly advised” to check their journey plans before travelling after reports of a storm with 70mph winds set to hit the UK overnight.
From Monday evening at 6pm Greater Anglia will run trains at reduced speeds until the end of the day.
Speed restrictions will limit the number of trains the train operating company can run.
Customers who are able to do so are being advised to travel before - if they can - to avoid disruption to services.
The worst of the storm is expected to have passed by late Tuesday morning.
Network Rail will then run test trains to check damage along the line from the storm.
A Greater Anglia spokesman said: “Once we have ensured lines can safely open, we will look to run as many trains as possible and communicate this to customers.”
