Redbridge Police Cadets have had a busy weekend in the run-up to Christmas.
The cadets dressed as Santa to attend the annual sponsored 5k Santathon run on December 1 where more than 500 people wearing red santa outfits attended Dagenham and Redbridge Football Club in order to raise money for St Francis Hospice, in Broxhill Road, Havering-Atte-Bower, the UK’s biggest adult hospice.
The cadets then attended an Exhibition at New Scotland Yard on December 2 which marked 130 years of the History of Counter Terrorism Policing. The exhibition was open to all MPS staff. The exhibition displayed original artefacts and interactive information on a variety of fascinating cases dating back to 1883.
Simran Kumer, a Redbridge Cadet, said: “It was so exciting attending the exhibition. There were lots of interesting information on how things have changed over the years and seeing New Scotland Yard was fascinating.”
PC Amanda Miller of Redbridge Cadets, added: “It is fantastic that the Cadets take an active part in community life including attending the Santathon. They are always enthusiastic and do their best at everything.”
