Flood alerts have been issued along two stretches of the River Roding following the recent heavy rainfall.
High water levels have been recorded in the middle River Roding in Loughton and Buckhurst Hill since Thursday; as well as in the lower River Roding in Woodford, Wanstead, Ilford since Saturday, according to the Environment Agency.
There has been some flooding to lower-lying land, roads and gardens next to the river, the agency said.
Levels remain high in some of the areas but was beginning to fall, according to the latest information released by the agency last night.
The forecast is mainly dry for today with some blustery showers and further unsettled weather is forecast for the week.
