A large blaze destroyed the roof of a hotel, which was under refurbishment, in Cranbrook Road on Saturday evening.
More than 30 firefighters tackled the fire at the Park Hotel in Cranbrook Road, Ilford at around 5.45pm on Saturday afternoon.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said that it took just over two hours to get the fire under control, which is believed to have been an accident.
There were no reports of any injuries and fire crews from Ilford, East Ham, Leytonstone, Hainault and Woodford attended.
