Christians are called to be witnesses for Jesus. Witnessing involves making visible what is otherwise invisible.

The reality to which we bear witness is the invisible kingdom of God, and in witnessing we strive to make the Lord’s reign visibly manifest. Among the many ways we can bear witness to Jesus is through loving our fellow man.

We are called to give our testimony to those around us. Testifying to the work of God in our lives bears witness to what Christ has done for us. We try to live a righteous life and so manifest the work of the Holy Spirit.

We share kindness and honesty because of what Jesus has done for us. We love our neighbour and share through actions and words the love of God.

We are called to be a transforming presence by offering love and forgiveness when we find ourselves hurt or betrayed. It's a challenge but at the heart of God is love for all of his creation and we must try to live up to that commandment.

Ilford is filled with a variety of people of all different races and religions, but together if we keep God's love as our focus, we can make Ilford a wonderful place to live.

Each one of us can turn the other cheek, hold out the hand of friendship or just smile at the stranger in the street.

Together we can transform Ilford.
