The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made their last public appearance as working members of the Royal Family.

The Royal family is just that little bit smaller. So, do we just wait for the rebate? Surely they can’t cost tax payers as much now, because they’re smaller. If anyone needs me I’ll be hold my breath.

There’s one person who might be happy that they have quit, Aker Okoye the young Dagenham student at the school Meghan went to on International Women’s Day. He hit the headlines when he said, “She’s beautiful, innit?”

To the more mature reader, I should point out, “innit” is just something that young people say. He’s not actually saying, “She’s beautiful in it.” He’s not complimenting her coat. He was saying, “She is beautiful, isn’t she?”

That’s right, the first thing he said about her was to comment on her beauty, on International Women’s Day. It’s a good job people found him cute or he would have been #MeToo’d at record speed.

He also hugged Meghan. We are living in a time when we’re told to avoid physical contact to halt the spread of coronavirus and he’s going in for a hug.

It was odd to see because we are so used to the rule, you don’t touch the royals but the royals can touch you, and if you do touch them the bouncers will throw you out, and the drinks in that place are overpriced anyay. Sorry, I was thinking of someone else there.

I presumed you weren’t allowed to touch the Queen in case you had cheap shoes on and had built up some static.

Aker is lucky. He could have been sent to the tower for hugging a royal. But Meghan isn’t royal any more. Well done Aker, timing, innit?
