An electrician has launched an appeal after he had £2,000 worth of tools stolen from his van.

Owen Green, 23, is a self employed electrician from Chelmsford, but was working at Tamar Flats in Woodford Green on Monday, February 12 at around 2pm.

He said he parked his van and left it for 10 minutes, and when he returned all his tools had gone.

Owen told the Recorder: “It was broad daylight, I couldn’t believe that somebody had the nerve to do this.

“I have had offers to borrow tools from friends but because I am self employed it has really set me back.

“This is the first time it has happened to me, but I know that it has also happened to some of my other friends around here.

“It took them eight seconds to get into the back of the van, it looks like it has been organised.”

Owen said that he had managed to retrieve CCTV footage of the incident from the caretaker of the flats.
