Youngsters learn the secrets of drawing portraits at Valentines Mansion and Gardens in Ilford

Young children showed their creative skills at Valentines Mansion and Gardens on Sunday by designing delightful drawings of their parents.

As part of the Pretty Portraits event in Emerson Road, Ilford, young wannabe artists learnt some of the basics of putting pencil to paper.

A group of children were given drawing tips and also found out about classic painters and contemporary talents to give them inspiration.

Gavyam Garg and Hanuv Garg led the way with their colourful portraits of mum Prinka and dad Puneet.
