The new building for the headquarters of children’s charity Barnardo’s was officially opened this afternoon by the Queen.
Children armed with flags and flowers patiently waited for her to finish her one hour tour of the building in Tanners Lane, Barkingside so they could meet her.
Her Majesty, who is the patron of Barnardo’s, visited at about 3pm this afternoon with the Duchess of Cornwall who is the president of the charity.
They both heard about the charity’s work.
