Ilford North MP Wes Streeting has been elected on to the treasury select committee.

Labour MP Mr Streeting – who won the seat in May from Conservative predecessor Lee Scott – tweeted: “Really chuffed to have been elected as one of the Labour members of the Treasury Select Committee. Thanks to everyone who voted for me.”

The committee is appointed by the House of Commons to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of HM Treasury, HM Revenue & Customs, and associated public bodies, including the Bank of England and the Financial Conduct Authority.
