It was sad to see extraordinary girl group Xyra not make it to the live shows on X Factor last night.

Sasha McIntosh, a 22-year-old Redbridge dance teacher, and one fifth of Xyra, was disappointed that Gary Barlow decided to not take the group any further in the competition at his New York home.

But Sasha said: “I loved it! It was a great experience and this just makes us push harder and has made us realise even more that this is what we want to do.”

Sasha, 22, joined the girl group seven months ago, after she auditioned for a place in the band at the Pineapple Dance Studios.

From that point on, Xyra were determined to make it big and did everything they could to get there, from posting videos on YouTube to busking in Covent Garden.

The girls were thrilled to get to the judges’ houses and even though they did not get any further, the group are still very positive.

Sasha said: “We’re a family of sisters now for life and we are hungrier than ever”.

The group are now going back to their roots, performing and busking on the streets, making music videos and performing at every opportunity they can.

Sasha added: “The X Factor has been a great platform for us and now I can’t wait for the future”.
